It was another day with 100 degree heat across the entire area…that makes 17 days in Fayetteville and 34 in Fort Smith. The record is 40 days for Fayetteville in 1954, and 54 days of 100 degree heat in Fort Smith also in 1954!
Some of our communities received the typical pop up showers and storms….even some wind damage in the Rudy, AR area from microburst winds.
A weak disturbance will move in for Wednesday, and that should spark off scattered showers and storms during the afternoon and evening!
Storms could produce strong damaging winds with the extreme surface heat. A cold front arrives Thursday night and that means a nice drop in temperatures for the weekend!
