Well Saturday will be the last day of the extreme heat at least over the next week. Highs should climb into the upper 90′s and lower 100′s; however, relief is on the way in the form of a cold front by the end of the weekend.
The concern for Saturday will be more scattered showers and storms developing toward the afternoon and evening. While most of the storms will remain below severe limits, extreme heat at the surface can also contribute to damaging microburst type winds.
Thunderstorms that collapse aloft in this extreme heat environment can gust to over 60 mph. We will watch things closely for you on Saturday.
