Thursday’s Cold Front…Some Relief

Well this is it, the area’s best chance for showers and storms over the next 7 days.  A pronounced cold front will move into the area by Thursday morning creating a 50% chance for showers and storms during the morning and afternoon.

The best coverage area looks to be across northeastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas between 7 am and 10 am on Thursday morning.  More storms are possible near the front during the afternoon and evening.  The overall severe weather threat is low, but an isolated strong to severe storm with gusty winds is possible.

Temperatures are tricky with the chances for rain and storms.  Highs across northwest Arkansas will climb into the low to middle 80′s; however, the River Valley and Ouachitas could spike into the 90′s ahead of the front.  Highs with some storms could be around 90, but without the rain, those highs could soar into the low to middle 90′s!

The major heat is still set to arrive this weekend with highs in the middle to upper 90′s to 100 degrees.
